On Erev Rosh Hashana, 20 youths, some members of the Municipal Youth Council, spent time visiting elderly residents within the city.
While the rest of us were getting ready for chag, the kids visited housebound residents to wish them a shana tova and bring a gift basket. The activity was part of the new project “Kimat Shabbat Shalom”.
The program was started by the head of the Youth Council Roy Kingsburg in conjunction with the welfare and volunteering departments in the municipality.
As part of the program, every Friday, the kids taking part visit elderly residents in their homes to wish them a Shabbat Shalom. The kids brought with them a jar of honey, some candies, a card from the mayor and a card designed by the Maagal Nashim Givat Shmuel.
