In case you missed it, several organizations are reporting that the Ministry of Transportation has yet again made things easier for new immigrants with a foreign drivers license – this time changing the conversion deadline. Now, olim wishing to convert their foreign license to an Israeli one will have 5 years from their date of Aliyah, instead of just three.

And, after a few weeks of limbo, the Ministry of Transportation website has been updated to include this change , so you shouldn’t have any trouble.

This follows the reform from the summer, which removed some red tape and allowed immigrants to transfer their licenses without taking the much-dreaded Road Exam.
