Starting this September, a new daycare will be opening in Givat Shmuel. Even better, its recognized by Ministry of Economy and Industry (formerly Tama”t), and will be subsidized accordingly.

According to the municipality, the daycare – ma’on in Hebrew – will be based in the new Matnas building to be built on Ha’Etrog Street, and will accept children ages 0-3. Registration for the Maon will take place between 4-22 Feb 2018 via the Matnas’ website, and Tama”t discounts will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

For those unaware, Tama”t discounts are granted to olim families if both parents meet one of the following criteria:

  • The parent is enrolled in Ulpan (minimum 24 hours per week),
  • The parent is registered with Misrad Haklita as unemployed and seeking a job.
