Undergraduate Admission Requirements

In order to apply for one of Ono Academic College’s academic programs, prospective students must have the following:

LL.B – Law or B.A in Business Administration

  • 95 or above high school matriculation average.
  • 650 or above on the Psychometric Exam, or a passing score on the Ono placement exam.

Applicants which meet the following criteria are automatically accepted into the program:

  • Academic degree from a recognized institution, with an average grade of 80 or above.
  • Graduate or postdoctorate degree from a recognized institution.

B.A. in Advertising and Marketing Communication

  • 92 or above high school matriculation average.
  • A passing score on the Ono placement exam
  • Personal interview with the program directors.

B.Mus. in Cross-Discipline Music

  • A recognized high school diploma or matriculation certificate.
  • Personal interview with the program directors.
  • Musical hearing / vocal / instrument test.
  • Music theory placement exam.

B.A in Communication Sciences and Disorders

  • 95 or above high school matriculation average.
  • 650 or above on the Psychometric Exam, or a passing score on the Ono placement exam.
  • 2 or above on the English placement exam.
  • Personal interview with member of the academic faculty.

B.O.T in Occupational Therapy

  • 95 or above high school matriculation average.
  • 600 or above on the Psychometric Exam, or SAT equivalent.
  • 2 or above on the English placement exam.
  • Personal interview with member of the academic faculty.

B.P.T. in Physical Therapy

  • 95 or above high school matriculation average.
  • 600 or above on the Psychometric Exam.
  • Personal interview with member of the academic faculty.
  • Preference to those with 4-unit Math on their Bagruyot.

Note: If you have a foreign matriculation equivelance (high school transcript and diploma), you must have it verified by the Ministry of Education (Tel: 02-5601371/2). It is at the department’s discretion to accept SAT scores in lieu of the Psychometric exam.

 

Graduate Admission Requirements

In order to apply for one of Ono Academic College’s Graduate programs, prospective students must meet the following criteria:

M.B.A – Master’s in Business Administration

  • Applicants with an Undergraduate degree from a recognized academic institution must meet one of the following:
    • 80 or above average in undergraduates studies and managerial or professional background of at least three years.
    • 75 or above average in undergraduates studies, a professional license granted by external entities (i.e. CPA) and managerial or professional background of at least three years.
    • 75 or above average in undergraduates studies, and managerial or professional background of at least five years.
  • Applicants with a Graduate degree from a recognized academic institution: three years of managerial or professional experience.

LL.M – Master’s in Law

Regular Track:

  • An Undergraduate degree in Law from a recognized academic institution, with an average of 80 or above.

Thesis Track (Third Semester):

  • 85 or above average in the courses studied during the first two semesters.
  • Personal interview.
  • Additional terms set by the Committee of Advanced Studies.

Registration and Acceptance Process

Applicants can register with the registration kit or online.

Registration includes submitting complete and original registration forms, an updated CV, photocopy of the ID card (including the appendix), a passport picture and payment of the registration fee.

Presenting Proof of Prior Studies

Applicants must present one of the following:

  • Complete matriculation diploma.
  • Undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree.

For foreign diplomas and degrees, applicants should be sure to include an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education: Foreign High School Education Evaluation ( 02-5601371/2 ) or Degree and Diploma Evaluation Department ( 02-5601684 ).

Applicants who are completing or improving their matriculation scores may be provisionally accepted upon submitting a certificate of eligibility for a full matriculation diploma prior to the beginning of the school year and achieving an average of 95, subject to Acceptance Committee approval.

Applicants who do not hold a matriculation diploma, above 30 only, will be required to participate in a preparatory course prior to the beginning of the school year. Acceptance to academic studies is contingent upon passing all preparatory courses with a grade of at least 80 and achieving a weighted average of 80.

Personal Interview

Each applicant will attend a personal interview with the member of the academic staff of the desired faculty.  Applicants accepted through the automatic acceptance procedure, will not be required to attend a personal interview.  The interviewer’s recommendation is a highly important element of Acceptance Committee considerations and allows for developing a deeper impression of the applicant.

Preparatory Course in English

Applicants accepted to the College will be required to participate in a preparatory course in English if they were classified as level D in the placement tests or achieved a score of 77-84 in the English section of the psychometric test or a score of 177-184 in the AMIR English Proficiency Test.

The preparatory course in English will take place in the evening, in addition to the curriculum.

Tuition for the preparatory course in English during the 2015 (5775) academic year is 2,000 NIS.

Applicants will only be exempt from placement tests in English upon submitting one of the following:

  • Certificate of exemption from a recognized Israeli academic institution.
  • Psychometric score of at least 110 in the English section.
  • AMIR English Proficiency Test score of at least 200.
  • Exemption from a placement test in Hebrew.

Placement Tests

The aim of the placement tests is to ensure that the students are at the level required for academic studies and that they are placed in appropriate study levels.

The placement tests consist of multiple choice questions, and examine reading comprehension in both Hebrew and English. Exams can only be taken once and the results cannot be appealed.

Applicants will be exempt from a placement test in mathematics upon presenting a score of at least 110 on the Quantitative Thinking section of the psychometric test.

Exemption from English Placement Test:

  • Holders of a recognized academic degree.
  • English section psychometric score.
  • Amir English Proficiency Test score of at least 220.

Exemption from Hebrew Placement Test:

  • Holders of a recognized academic degree.
  • Psychometric score of at least 110 in the Verbal Thinking section.

Exemption from Mathematics Placement Test

  • Psychometric score of at least 110 in the Quantitative Thinking section.
  • Academic studies in mathematics.

 

Acceptance Committee

The acceptance committee reviews the full array of candidate information. Committee decisions are handed down in writing within two weeks of completing the registration process.
